The result was delete. There are no objections to including the three blue linked entries ("the notables") on List of African guitarists and List of Zimbabwean musicians and I will do so as an outcome of this discussion (in fact, a couple are already listed). - Merge
Delete. [per indented comment] I agree with nom. FWIW, I found barely any lists of guitarists by geographical area (although I didn't spend much time searching). I didn't find any other lists of guitarists by country, and only one by continent (List of African guitarists). As a further aside, the list of African guitarists includes only those with articles. This would leave List of Zimbabwean guitarists with just three entries. --Larry/Traveling_Man (talk) 18:55, 3 October 2021 (UTC)
- I think Reywas92 is correct. I hadn't thought to merge with List of African guitarists, since it was the only continent with a list - but perhaps it's merely the forerunner of what should be articles for each continent. In any case, that's a discussion for another time. I simply missed the existence of List of Zimbabwean musicians. --Larry/Traveling_Man (talk) 19:08, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
- Keep, but trim to only include notable guitarists. There's an entire chapter about acoustic guitarists and guitar bands in Nationalists, Cosmopolitans, and Popular Music in Zimbabwe (Turino; 2008), Brown wrote about the importance of guitarists in Zimbabwe in The World of Music, 36(2), 73–117, and in 2013 The Herald (Harare) wrote about women guitarists in Zimbabwe. pburka (talk) 18:08, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
- Merge the notables to List of African guitarists and List of Zimbabwean musicians. Other than the former, guitarists are not divided geographically, and this is not a large enough group of notable people to warrant its own list. Reywas92Talk 18:19, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
- Delete. A long list of non-notables. The small number of blue linked names can be included in List of African guitarists. Ajf773 (talk) 19:30, 4 October 2021 (UTC)
- Delete Per the nom. It is not the purpose of Wikipedia to be a WP:DIRECTORY for every random non-notable guitarist in Zimbabwe. The article has no sources, so it fails WP:V and WP:LISTN. I found no evidence that this yellow pages type list exists anywhere in the real world outside Wikipedia, so it is WP:OR as well. Newshunter12 (talk) 13:19, 8 October 2021 (UTC)
- Delete most of mentioned people aren't notable enough for Wikipedia. Also there's no sources Brayan ocaner (talk) 00:16, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
- Delete. As mentioned, the list is a large collection of names that have no indication of notability or references. Only three have articles; as it stands it only looks like a way to avoid meeting a notability guide to get listed. Ifnord (talk) 09:52, 15 October 2021 (UTC)
